Entrepreneurship 110

Ms. Baker/Ms. Reinhart

Project Descriptions and Due Dates

1.  Entrepreneur’s Dozen                                      Due: September 19, 2005

Design a poster to display 12 entrepreneurial characteristics, which correspond to the word “ENTREPRENEUR.” Your evaluation will be based on your creativity and explanatory choices of words, as well as your visual design of the poster (space, shape and colour). You will also be evaluated on how well you work in teams, such as your use of time and interpersonal skills. You may also substitute any other 12-letter phrase that refers to the word “ENTREPRENEUR”.

2.  Scrapbook Article Hunt                                    Due: October 03, 2005

You will be given a list of article topics you must find in the local newspaper. With those articles you are asked to design a scrapbook, complete with summaries of each article, titles and an index page. You will be marked on your visual presentation, the content of your articles and your creativity. A format will be provided.

3.  Business Card Project                                       Due: October 07, 2005

Find 9 business cards from various people and places of employment in our community. Arrange the cards so they are visually pleasing on a piece of Bristol board. Label each card with a story such as your previous experiences with the business, the history of the owner or your relationship with the owner. Pick a card that is especially significant and make it stand out in some way. The 10th business card, which is to be placed on your poster, will be one that you have created for yourself. Emphasis will be placed on the cardholder being an owner rather than a manager or sales agent.

4.  Entrepreneur Interview                                    Due: October 17, 2005

Using questions given to you, plus others that you have created yourself, interview an entrepreneur in our community (subject to approval). Be prepared to present your interview to the class on the due date. You will be evaluated on your presentation technique (use voice clips or pictures if possible!). Your written interview is to be handed in.
