Course Description:
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Grade 9 F.I. Canadian Identity

Students will be introduced to the fundamental underpinnings of Western civilization. This course is a study of Western history and civilization under the general headings of: Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, Feudalism, Medieval Church, The Renaissance, and The Reformation.

Assessment Methods:
1. Participation 10% (oral communication & expression)

Students will be expected to participate verbally in class discussions in French at all times.

2. Tests & Projects 60% (tests, assignments, quizzes, homework checks)

Major assignments & tests will be announced well in advance. Shorter assignments & quizzes will require less notice. Homework checks will be done on a random basis.

3. Final Exam 30% (see exam schedule)
