KVHS Citizenship Award

Kennebecasis Valley High School will offer students the opportunity to attain a citizenship award which recognizes outstanding student involvement in school and the community.  This award was implemented in order to encourage students to become well-rounded and responsible individuals as well as to strengthen ties between KVHS and the community.

The Citizenship Award exists at two levels – Step one: certificate and Step 2: pin.  To achieve Step 1, the student must complete 50 hours of service to KVHS by participating in at least 5 different activities, groups or teams in at least 4 of 6 different designated categories.  As well, the student will fulfil 20 hours of direct service to an individual, group or organization in the surrounding community.  To complete Step 2, the student must again fulfil all the requirements of Step 1 plus complete a self-initiated service project to benefit the community.  This award can be earned at any point during the student’s high school career with no time-frame attached to it, therefore all students are encouraged to consider becoming involved.
