Multi-Media Presentations
Multimedia presentations allow a great deal of room for creativity. You can use a variety of colors, graphics, animation, sound, and video to communicate your ideas. A multimedia presentation should include the following types of media.
Text: Pertinent information to the subject researched. Presented in point form or short sentences. Each slide should not be overcrowded with text
Pictures: Descriptive pictures of the subject should be added with the text on the appropriate page. Include a title or short description of what the picture represents. Keep a certain uniformity in the sizes of the pictures.
Sounds: Add special effect sounds to get attention. Add some background music that is appropriate to the subject and the information being presented. Record and playback descriptions of pictures or reading of the text being shown on the slide.
Video: Include a little video clip. Make sure the clip is relevant.
While preparing your multi-media presentation, you should always keep in mind that each slide should not be overcrowded with information and pictures. The layout is very important to capture the viewer's attention. Be aware of who your audience will be so that the content and presentation of your material will be appropriate. It is often helpful to create a flowchart to help you organize your thoughts before you begin.
