Social Sciences

To know history is to know yourself! The Social Studies department offers a variety of courses in History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, and World Issues. The goal of the study of society is to better understand the past so that the present makes sense and in order to improve the future. Social Studies is not only a list of facts. It is a way of thinking. It is a focus on understanding ideas, where they come from, and how they are used to manipulate or improve society. Understanding how humans interact with each other is an essential element of a democratic society. So students of the 21st Century, take Social Studies and become productive citizens.
