Immigration Opinions

· The system seems to be unfair regarding wait times

· Standards need to maintained, for example people with criminal behaviors and violent crimes should not be admitted, life endangerment should allow for the bypass of certain aspects of the policy

· Is it fair the immigrants get jobs immediately upon arrival? While Canadians have to wait for perhaps years????

· Immigration is good because immigrants will take less desirable jobs and we have lots of physical space to hold immigrants

· Some people leave good jobs in original country, but accept menial jobs in exchange for new country

· Jobs lost – actually jobs increased (ESL, etc.)

Refugee

· More important than immigration – dangerous situations

· Who is the most important to be over here? Bombs, war etc or poor living conditions?

· People in dangerous situations cannot afford to wait for the two year application process

· Let more in at a faster rate due to current world events

· Check the reality of refugee claim, make certain the threat is as stated

· We can accept more people because of our land mass
