Immigrant – being pulled towards a country - both positive and negative

Ethnocentric – the belief that their way of life is superior, no respect for other cultures; based on prejudice (belief that not all people have equal value)

Multiculturalism – the official policy of the government of Canada; which recognizes and supports the identities and traditions of the many different cultural groups in Canada.
