Back to KVHS |
Usher Miller Fields at KVHS began as an idea to solve the problem of deteriorating field behind KVHS. The field
was in such a state of disrepair that is had been closed for the past four seasons. The original goal was to build
two artificial fields with lights that would provide nearly year long use to the greater Kennebecasis Valley
community. After the some initial engineering investigation, it was determined that it would be impossible to turf
the old soccer field, as it would require much more excavation and money than possible. From here, the project
shifted to a multipurpose top level artificial turf field with lights, and a reconditioned quality grass field. Through
the generous donations of the late Arthur J. Miller; the Federal, Provincial, and Municipal governments; local
businesses, and people in the community, the project became a reality. Ground was broken on the project in and
construction of Phase 1 begin in .The project was completed August 28, 2010 and opened for use by the general public
on September 1. |
